Cragg Hill Mission Community

craggThe mission community is made up of people of very different age groups. We have families with young children, teenagers and adults of all ages who meet together at 10.30 for Sunday morning worship. The services are led by a music group and we try to incorporate a full range of Christian music including hymns and modern songs. Children are included in the first part of the service: they enjoy playing the percussion instruments that are available and take an active part in a children’s talk. We have lively Sunday school classes that go on during the second part of the service so they can learn the Bible stories at their own level.

Cragg Hill Baptist church was established in 1801 and has been sharing the life and love of Christ ever since. In 1995 it was adopted by South Parade Baptist Church and became one its mission communities (congregations) benefitting from having shared resources and ministry team.

Cragg seeks to be a church for its local community. It recently set up nine allotments on its land, all taken by people within walking distance of the Church, it also hosts a recording studio for community use and has a strong partnership with young musicians through the high school.  On Friday mornings you will find a warm welcome, cup of tea and a bacon sandwich at the drop in between 10.30 till 12.

As well as the Sunday service, Cragg encourages a number of smaller more informal groups for fellowship, fun and growing in the Christian faith. These include a monthly women's fellowship, home groups, film nights and the Disciple - an informal night for worship and prayer.  Contact us for more information.
