Headingley Mission Community
We are a congregation of around 200 who come together for worship on Sunday morning. We are a mixture of old and young, singles, families and students, wanting to be equipped by the Lord to live out our faith as a community. The first half an hour is centred around the children in our congregation before they leave for their groups.
Children and Young People
Junior church takes place during the morning service. This currently has around 70 young people and children who go into their own age groups to learn about the Bible and living a Christian lifestyle.
Two youth cell groups run each week. One on a Tuesday evening for years 9-11, and another on Wednesday evenings for years 5 & 6 and Years 7 & 8. See the latest newsletter for details of this and other activities.
We have three parent and toddler groups for pre-school aged children which run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Whenever we can, we take the opportunity to invite these families to junior church and other church events.
Dads and kids get the chance to meet once a month for Saturday breakfast.
We have several small groups, which meet weekly in homes.
For those who prefer a church building based gathering, Midweek Track meets in the vestry at South Parade Baptist Church every Wednesday at 8pm for Bible study and discussion, prayer and fellowship. Newcomers are always welcome - entrance via the double gates and across the courtyard to the black door in front and use intercom on right hand side of door.
Prayer in the Green House
We meet on Tuesday mornings from 11.15 to 11.45 for a time of guided prayer - prayer requests left in our prayer box in the foyer through the week are brought to God during this time. There is a "house of prayer" every Saturday morning from 08.00 to 11.00.
